With over 20 years’ experience in the restaurant industry, Aki Hadjipetros brings his passion for food and décor to Barazza in Bryanston. You may know him from Licorice or recall his signature Sandton restaurant – 8 at Michelangelo Towers, one of Joburg’s top restaurants.

As one of the most seasoned and respected restaurateurs in Joburg, Aki’s love for the culinary and interior arts has trickled through every restaurant he has owned. Barazza is the culmination of Aki's extensive experience. 

This sentiment spills into every item on Barazza’s menu and for manager Tyson it’s about experimenting with flavour and finding fresh new ways to enhance simple "comfort" dishes.

 

 

 

Although their latest Johannesburg restaurant combines all the experience and knowledge the partners have learnt along the way, Barazza breaks all the rules yet manages to hit the “sweet spot”.

 

And the decor?

As for the interiors, it was important for Aki to create a space that mirrors the menu – a blend of classic and contemporary influences that are as delicious on the eye!
